Learn more about our selling process here.

How Do I Get Paid?

We offer several payment options. You can select to be paid by Check, PayPal, Instant Bank Transfer, Gift Cards, or Virtual Visa.

When Do I Get Paid?

Once we receive your package, we will evaluate it and make sure it matches your description. If using your own packaging with our provided shipping label, you should receive payment by the next business day. If you are requesting packaging from us, payment processing can take up to 72 hours.

What if you determine my item does not match my description?

What we buy can be found on the website. We buy smart phones from all the major carriers, as well as tablets. If you do not see it on our list or on the website, we are not currently purchasing the item.

If the condition of the device was not accurately represented, we may provide you with a new offer or return the device to you.

Can I Sell a Phone I Found?

No, we don’t buy devices that have been lost or stolen. If we are sent a lost or stolen device, we will not be able to return it.

There are some websites where you can verify whether or not a phone has been reported stolen by looking up the IMEI or ESN number. If you find that you’ve come across a stolen device, the best course of action is to turn it over to the police or the carrier.

Can I still sell my phone if it has been a bad esn from being lost or stolen?

No: phones that have been barred because they have been reported as lost or stolen will be turned over to the police or the wireless carrier and cannot be returned. All phones received are checked against a national database of stolen phones, and if they are found to be stolen, they are reported to the police.

What Does The Whiz Cells Do?

The Whiz Cells is an electronics recycler. Our mission is to keep electronics in use as long as possible to keep e-waste to a minimum in our landfills, while putting money in your pocket. How do we accomplish this? We purchase used electronics and resell them to people that may be upgrading from much older technology at a reduced cost. We also purchase broken devices and send them to refurbishing centers to be used for parts and then sold as quality working units again. Not only does the environment benefit from what we do, but you do as well. We pay you top dollar on your used or unwanted electronics so that you can purchase the newest, latest, and greatest with the least amount of impact on your wallet! Here is an example: Say you have an older smartphone and you are ready to sell your phone for money to put towards a newer model. Let’s say we are offering $150 for your current phone and the cost of your upgrade to the new model is a standard $199.99. The impact on your wallet is now only $49.99 to purchase the newest smartphone model!

Can I Sell a Phone I Still Owe Money On?

Yes, you can sell your phone even if you still owe money on it. Most carriers waive the right in your Equipment Installment Plan to repossess your device if you fail to pay it off. It’s important that you still pay off the phone, of course, to avoid getting a bad IMEI or ESN number from your carrier — many networks will refuse to provide for blacklisted devices.

Can I Sell My Phone If It’s Broken?

Yes! We understand the environmental risks of throwing electronic devices in the trash, so we encourage individuals to sell their damaged or broken phones. As long as we’re accepting the type of device you have, we’ll offer you cash to take it off your hands!

Do I Need to Send in Phone Accessories?

No. We do, however, ask that you send in the stylus if your device came with one. Some styluses only work with certain devices, and the wrong one may even cause damage to the screen, so it makes our process easier if the stylus is included with the phone or tablet.

Do I Need to Send in My SIM Card?

You’re welcome to send us your SIM card with your phone if you want to, but it’s not required.

How Do I Find My Phone Model?

You can find the model of your phone by going into the device’s settings and locating the “About” or “About Phone” section. It should give you access to your model, serial number, carrier, network and more.

How Do I Determine Phone Storage Capacity or Device Memory?

This process can vary a little depending on the device you have, but your device memory or storage capacity should be located in your phone’s settings under “Storage” or “Device Memory.” You can see from there exactly how much space you currently have on your phone.

Will My Personal Information Be Deleted From the Phone?

We know most people who use their phones regularly have a wealth of sensitive personal information stored in them. We recommend that you remove all personal data from your phone before sending it to us, which you can do easily on an iPhone by visiting your settings, tapping “Reset” and then tapping “Erase All Content and Settings.” However, we’ll also check your phone upon evaluation to make sure all your personal data is erased. In other words, you can rest easy if you forget.

What Carriers Do You Accept?

We accept devices from all the major carriers, including Verizon, Sprint, Xfinity, T-Mobile, AT&T and more. Usually, what we accept depends on the phone, but if we’re currently buying the device you want to sell, it will be listed on our website. We’re also willing to buy devices if they’ve already been unlocked.

What Does It Mean for a Phone to Be "Unlocked"?

An unlocked phone is a device that allows you to use multiple carriers. In most cases, a phone is only compatible with a specific carrier, meaning if you want to use AT&T service for texts and calls, you need an AT&T device. But with an unlocked phone, you can use your preferred carrier rather than having to switch to a new one every time you buy a different device.

All you need is a new SIM card for your preferred carrier. Once you insert it, you can enjoy service from that carrier on your unlocked phone. Contact your current carrier to learn about their specific policies for unlocking devices.

You can learn more about buying unlocked phones here.

Can I Sell an iCloud Locked Device?

No. All iPads and iPhones must have their iCloud accounts cleared/removed before we are able to purchase them.

How Many Phones Can I Sell?

We have no specific limit on the number of devices you can sell, as long as we’re currently accepting the types of devices you have. If you have a large number of phones that you’re looking to sell, you’ll be happy to know that we also buy devices from businesses in bulk. You can reach out to one of our selling consultants to discuss an in-bulk transaction with us.

How Do I Determine the Condition of My Phone?

If you’re unsure what condition your phone is in, a few signs can help you speed up the process with us. For instance, if your phone functions effortlessly and has no visible signs of wear, the device is in perfect or “like new” condition.

A phone in good condition, on the other hand, may show several signs of use but still function normally. Lastly, you can let us know your device is broken or in poor condition if it has any cracks, non-working buttons or major functional issues.

What Is My Phone’s IMEI Number?

IMEI stands for “International Mobile Equipment Identity.” Your phone’s IMEI number is a unique code made up of 15 digits used to identify the device if it’s lost or stolen. It’s helpful to write this number down and place it somewhere safe just in case your phone ever goes missing. Similarly, you can benefit from checking a phone’s IMEI number before you buy it to make sure you’re ordering a legal device.

How Do I Find My Phone’s IMEI Number?

Many phones can access this number by dialing: *#06#

You should then see your IMEI number pop up on the screen. In most cases, your IMEI number will also be conveniently located on the back of the device or in your phone’s settings. More information on finding your IMEI number.
